Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Dear Sirs, are you planning on a scope to go with the .204.My Buddy swears up and down about your .22 scopes. Thanks for a good product.Tim
A: We are currently working on it. It will be out in 2007. It was nice to get feedback about our scopes. Thanks for the inquiry and keep an eye on our web page because new things will be added as they come out.
Q: Can this be attached to a Colt Gold Cup with the Eliason sight? I ask as the slide does not have a dovetail. (referring to special ops compact)
A: Yes, It would have to be drilled and tapped into the slide.
Q: What scope will work for my 264 Winchester, Improved? Ed
A: Our RR600 is the way to go.
Q: Bought one of your 3X9 .22 scopes. What is the screw for angling out from the turret housing, lower left side?
A: The piece on the turret housing you are talking about contains a coil spring which helps hold correct windage and elevation adjustments. This should not be moved.
Q: Are the reticles etched?
A: Yes, all of our reticles are etched except for our RR22 6x40, this one is pressure stamped.
Q: Are the scopes fog proof?
A: The scopes are fog proof, water resistant, shock absorbent and hold zero.
Q: What type of warranty do the scopes have?
A: Lifetime limited warranty.
Q: If I have a problem with one of my scopes, where do I have to send it back to Japan or do you handle repairs here?
A: If you have any problems with your scope send it directly back to us. We will check it over and either fix it or replace it with a new one.
Q: I am an avid Prairie Dog Hunter and I am very interested in your scopes. I was wondering if you have a scope available for .223 caliber, an adjustable objective, a variable 12 or 14 power magnification? I appreciate any correspondence concerning this matter.
A: We currently have the RR 600 and RR 800 series which will work with the heavy high B.C. 223. Caliber Bullets. Example: 75. Grain Hornaday A-Max 223. @ 2,900 Feet per second, works with the RR 600. Our RR 800 10X42. has a side wheel parallax adjustment. We do not have a variable with 12 or 14 power magnification at this time.
Q: Do you have any plans for a reticle that is ranged out to 1000 yards if so when? I really like your scope from everything I have read.
A: Yes we do have plans for such a reticle, but it will be for cartridges that are flatter shooting than the 308.
Q: I am ready to purchase a Springfield Armory M1-A. I want to put an innovated scope on it. Are your scopes compatible with the M1-A or not. I do not wish to purchase your (or anyone else's scope to have it damaged by an ejected case striking the scope and destroying it.
A: PFI has put RR 800 scopes on many M1A rifles. We have not had any problem with ejected cases striking the scope.
Q: Hey Folks: Love the .22 scope. What do you suggest I put on my Browning Buckmark? Thanks Charlie
A: We have a pistol scope 1.5-4x28 long eye relief. Or dot scope.
Q: Sir: I have a very special custom Ruger #1 in 22lr which needs a special scope. I prefer a fixed power 6x for it. The problem with most scopes is mounting and proper eye relief. The gun has a custom quarter rib with spacing similar to a regular #1 quarter rib. As a reference a 6x36 leupold does not quite have enough eye relief when mounted with the front ring touching the objective bell. The rib is set up for custom vertical split rings, so Ruger extension rings will not work. I am wondering if one of your 22 lr scopes would mount properly to give me the needed eye relief? Thanks for your consideration. John
A: Our 6x40 .22LRHV will work nicely with this rifle. Just use Ruger 1" rings to mount it.
Q: I do a lot of varmint hunting and shoot between 100& 450 yards. Which scope would be best? I have been using 55 grain Boat Tail Sierra bullets.
A: I would recommend the RR 800 10X42.
Q: Hi. I am VERY interested in your .22LR 3-9x32 scope. It seems to be exactly what I am looking for except my particular rifle prefers standard velocity (match) LR's at around 1080-1100 fps... Any intention of making a reticle for that? Do you know how 'off' my trajectory would be compared to the reticle? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. -D
A: Standard velocity match should change the values of the hold over lines from 15 to 20 percent. Example: for a 100 yard shot, you would hold on the 115 or the 120 mark.
Q: Hi. What is eye relief on your 3 models? Both low range and high range of magnification?....Thanks........Rich

Q: What is the best way to zero my scope?
A:
  1. For 22 LR scope set zero at 100 yards on the 100 yard hold over line.
  2. For 22 RFM scope set zero at 100 yards on the 100 yard hold over line.
  3. RR 600 first zero rifle at 200 yards, then go to 400 yards and check zero on the 400 yard hold over line. Reset to be zeroed close at the 400 yard hold over line. This should put you close to point of aim from 100 yards out to at least 500 yards. Always check your zero out to the furthest distance you will shoot.
  4. RR 800's set zero at 100 yards on the 100 yard hold over line, then go to 500 yards and check zero on the 500 yard hold over line. Make any click adjustments that are necessary to set zero on 500 yards hold over line. This should put you close (within a few inches) from 100 yards out to 800 yards.
